The beam from a PA probe can be focused and swept
electronically without moving. With ultrasonic PA
linear scan, the probe is placed on the tread surface
during the scanning process, and the flaw detection
can be completed without moving the probe.
With the function of flexible control
scanning acoustic beam angle, inspector
can angle the wave beam in multiple
directions to cover more of the testing
radius and spotting defects without
replacing the probes.
PA multi-angle scanning can avoid the
leak case, compared to conventional
UT which is nearly impossible to
diverge from a fixed beam position.
PA strong acoustic beam energy is
helpful for testing the defects which
reflection signal is weak, and defects
in rail waist with deep position, leading
to high detection sensitivity.
The special software is designed
according to the inspection process of
rail welds, and a number of inspection
methods can be selected for different
rail parts.
